As you adjust to life with SureSmile, you will develop a tray routine that works for you. You might have a couple of gadgets at home that have helped your oral care be better while you undergo treatment. That said, if you’re planning on going on a trip, travelling with your clear aligners might seem daunting. Here are three tips that can help make it easier to avoid delays.
Create a Pouch of Your Dental Essentials
While you pack clothes, don’t forget about your dental essentials. Make sure you have everything you need, like your toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss. While these will be great to have in your temporary home, consider making another smaller pouch of them. Travel-sized ones can ensure you’re never far from what you need to clean your smile while you’re on a plane or in a car.
Depending on how long you will be gone, consider bringing the right number of aligners. You will need to swap to a new set of trays every week or so. You can get prepared and avoid wearing a pair for longer than expected by looking ahead. Another great thing you can do is to stash extra trays as well.
Have Spare Bottles of Water
If you’re driving or flying, the bathrooms available may not be the cleanest. Using the sink may feel gross, so having bottles of water can be a good alternative. You can pour them on your toothbrush or rinse your mouth, so you feel more comfortable doing your oral hygiene routine. Better yet, staying hydrated helps wash away trapped food particles while encouraging saliva production.
Stick to a Proper Aligner Routine
In the end, don’t forget to adhere to your aligner routine. Whether you’re travelling for work or fun, being in a new place can make you feel more carefree. So, don’t have that attitude about your SureSmile treatment. Continue wearing them for 22 hours every day and brush after every meal. That way, you can avoid delays and have a smoother journey to your results. If you have trouble remembering, alarms and reminders might be helpful.
